Updates...

Rachel found her thumb this past week and has sucked it two times. If she's caught sucking at all, it is generally her whole hand and sounds so cute. She is eating and sleeping like a pro. She tends to get fussy in the evenings when she's tired, but I can usually calm her down by laying her on her belly across my legs and patting her on her back. Once 9:30 or 10:00pm rolls around I change her, give her a snack, and lay her down in her crib. Last night was a first, she slept through the night! Oh boy do I feel refreshed. I still hung out in bed this morning with her until Josh woke up. I just love mornings like these! Too bad they can't serve me coffee or tea in bed yet. Someday maybe.

Josh has mastered climbing on our furniture. He also fed himself pureed squash and sweet potatoes with a spoon. He made a HUGE mess but really enjoyed himself and the food. I love it when he eats his vegetables so well!

At church on Sunday he learned how to open the door. They have handles on the door instead of doorknobs which we have at home. I'm so thankful we don't have a newer house with those handles. I fear he'd be into everything then! No sooner did he learn to open the door, then he accidentally ran towards it and hit the side. Thus another bruise. Poor thing. I hope his hair will cover it when we get photos taken tomorrow. A friend said that her kids always got cuts or bruises just before picture time. Hmm, I hope this don't become a trend.

Last but not least, we are working on discipline. I just read "Don't Make Me Count to Three." This book focuses on discipline by reaching your child's heart. I thoroughly enjoyed the book; not only the wisdom from the experienced mom, but all the scripture she referenced that explained why and how to discipline your child. This was so encouraging. Obedience and self-control are what we are working and praying for everyday. I'm learning a lot and seeing so clearly how often we sin.

Josh learning to use chopsticks.
And oh, so much fun.

Josh enjoyed rice noodles and veggies.

Then a chocolate cupcake for dessert.

Cheers! YEAH, more milk please.

This is Josh's "new look," the sinful one.

Josh and Daddy time.
