This is our current home and decor... but this will be changing soon. We are moving! Our closing is this Friday and I am anxious about all the work that this 12 year old home needs. We are getting new carpets, having the downstairs painted and will attempt to paint upstairs starting this Saturday! I've posted some photos because I need help with colors. Can anyone out there recommend their favorite paint swatch?
I am looking for a neutral khaki/brown color for the great room in our new home. We currently have Sherwin Williams blonde in our house. I love the warmth from this color but I'm thinking I want something less yellow for the new home (or maybe just darker carpet will work?).Also, I'm trying to decide what color to paint in the kitchen. The cabinets will need to stay white and we plan to get new countertops at some point. Below are some ideas of the blue I'm thinking of, but just not sure what would go best with the great room as well since they are very open to each other. Oh, I don't mind going more modern too. I'm open to anything especially free advice!

Hey Kim! Sorry this is such a late comment...I am so bad at looking at other blogs these days;)...but anyways, I LOVE GREEN walls!! We have done a combo of a sage-type green, plumish purple and then a creamish color in our apartment and I really love the combination! Green is really hot right now in decorating I've noticed too...it is always a nice fresh, not-to-heavy color to have around!:)
Just a few ideas...curious to see what you guys decide!

As for colors, I like the idea of putting your favorite "SW blonde" color in the fireplace room. We carried our favorite paint color to our new home, too.
To me, the kitchen color you're looking for resembles one of the Eddie Bauer lake cottage blues (@ Lowe's).
I'm with Susanna- can't wait to see the pictures, too!
