My Personality

"ISFJs are traditional, loyal, quiet and kind. They are very sensitive to other people's needs because they are very observant. They have rich inner thoughts and emotions. They value stability and cultural norms. They are very adept at giving attention to detail. They do not seek positions of authority."

My friend Bethany, an ESTJ, just took this test and shared it with me. I guess I agree with the results. There were several questions that I wasn't sure how to answer because it all depends on the day or the situation. I think that may be why I'm somewhat in the middle on several of these. I definitely agree with the results in regards to work though. Here's what another ISFJ person said:

"At work, ISFJs contribute loyal, sympathetic, consistent, and considerate service to others. They are know for their kindness and for their willingness to go to any length to help those in need. They take the practical needs of people into account when they do their work, and their strong follow-through skills allow them to carry out organizational goals. They do at least what is expected to them and oftentimes more, without attracting attention to themselves. They are painstaking and responsible with detail and routine, and feel it is important to have the right things in the right places at the right times."

These comments were encouraging especially after the workday that I had today. All I have to say is that I'm really looking forward to serving my new employees very soon; Joshua, Rachel, and Gentoo. It will be the hardest job ever, with no days off or sick leave, but very rewarding. BTW, I'm referring to being at stay-at-home mom next year in case any readers didn't know.

I'm hoping Jason will do the test in just a few minutes so we can see how we "match up." We did a similar personality test about three years ago and I think I was an ESFJ. I just went to look for the results but unfortunately I think I just threw them away when I was on a clean sweep in my nightstand. Oh, let me know if you take the test and what you are.

Life of a Toddler

I think this is the period where I start calling "my baby," a toddler. Jason and I are really enjoying this period of Josh's life right now. I'm not sure if it's because we know we have another baby coming soon or because Josh is beginning to communicate and listen to us more even though he can't fully walk or talk.

I've started reading "Shepherding a Child's Heart" and oh boy do they have some stories in there. After reading one story last night I asked Jason, did you ever bounce on the sofa when you were a kid? His comment, "probably so." Just then I began imagining Josh doing this and remembered, oh I did it too!

Josh's recent love is our "safe" cabinet drawer that I let him raid. This week he figured out how to get his entire body in it too, but then got stuck and cried for help. Here are a few shots from this week.

Josh's Birthday Party

This past Sunday we celebrated Josh's birthday with some friends from our church. Below are some photos from the party. BTW- the cupcakes were one of Jessica Seinfield's recipes. They had avocado and cauliflower puree in them. They don't look as good as the regular ones, but were very good and semi-healthy for us all ; )

HAPPPY BIRTHDAY JOSH!!!

My, oh my. I can't believe it has been an entire year. What an amazing and joyous one! We are delighted and blessed to have such a wonderful son who turned 1 today. Josh has been so much fun and we look forward to sharing many, many, many more years with him. So much to be thankful for.

Josh and Gentoo are having more fun really these days. Josh likes to try to chase him or peek under the bed to get him to play. Gentoo has realized that this little guy, Josh, isn't too bad. He's nice about giving treats. They are warming up to each other more and more every day. I think they will be best friends in the next year or two, and Gentoo might have a new bed to sleep in other than ours.

Josh is also very excited about his new little sister and will be moving into his new room in a month or two. Here are some photos from the past week. Cake photos to come...

What's this?

Snow in GA!!!! Josh's first snowfall was last night (well, actually it was a few days ago now). Everyone was excited but it was just a little to dark for him to see and too wet for him to experience any more of the snow without getting too messy. These are a few pictures from the next day.
